City Bay Fun Run
Get your runners on and lets head down Anzac Highway for the biggest fun run in South Australia.
See your trainer for your training package which will get you in shape for the big day and ensure that you reach your chosen race goal.
An added incentive is that every kilometre covered is raising money for the Little Heroes Foundation. Our aim is to raise $10,000 as a group. So get your friends and family to help you out, as you are helping the sick kids of South Australia.

Step into Life de Castella Event
This year, Step into Life partnered with the 31st de Castella Run for Mental Health Research that was held on Sunday 28th August 2011.
Last year the event attracted more than 750 entrants, making it one of the biggest in the run's history. This year we had 1500 runners take part with over 500 of them being Step into Life members!
The 31st de Castella Run for Mental Health Research and Step into Life are proud to partner with the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (MAPrc) to raise awareness and funds for mental health research. MAPrc are working to improve treatments and services for people with severe mental illness.
Step into Life members participated in the event, making it a fun and energetic day for all. We had a spirit award named after a close friend and Step into Life franchise owner, who lost his life due to mental illness - “Paul Garbellotto Spirit Award." Step into Life members outshone on the day with amazing spirit throughout the event as well as helping raise funds for the Mental Health Research for the Alfred Hospital. Our members raised over $5000!!
ENORMOUS EFFORT!!

Parkinson’s NSW Unity Walk & Fun Run
We would like to invite the Step into Life trainers and members to participate in this year’s Parkinson’s NSW Unity Walk & Fun Run coming up on August 28th. This is the main fundraising and awareness raising event for Parkinson’s NSW and Peter Fitzsimons is the 2011 Ambassador. There are great prizes for the race winners and top fundraisers as well.
Every hour of every day someone new is diagnosed with Parkinson’ s disease in Australia. Over 80,000 people have Parkinson’s, which is a slowly degenerative neurological illness that affects movement. It is the second most common neurological condition (only to dementia). 10% of people living with PD are under the age of 40, but the average age of onset is 65.
It is now medically recognised that exercise can slow the progression of the symptoms of this disease. There are Step into Life members with PD and members that have family and friends living with the disease. I am sure they would appreciate knowing about this event and supporting it in some way.
Entry forms are available from the NSW franchisees, please contact your nearest Step into Life venue.

Well done to the Step into Life Franchisees and Trainers from Victoria that pulled off breaking the World Record for the largest Fit Ball Class in the World!
The event was held on Sunday 22nd May at Federation Square in conjunction with Voltaren who were launching their Pain Management Week.
Check out our facebook page for all the photos of Step into Life smashing the World Record for the largest Fit Ball class in the world! We needed 250 to break the record and there were over 300 that attended. Federation Square was full of our amazing members amongst other participants. We are proud of our trainers and our members for achieving this World Record!

Transformation Challenge Winner - Liz Bailey!
The 12 week Transformation Challenge has finished and our participants smashed their goals!
Both Liz and Terry were surprised of what they could achieve in that short period of time.
Liz told us that the key to her losing 13kgs (goal was 11) was “the exercise”. Yes what she was eating also influenced her results but the main point that worked for her was the exercise.
Liz’s three sessions per week and being committed to it is what made the difference – and having an awesome trainer! She also loved the group dynamics and the social aspect of the ‘other ladies’ encouraging her and inspiring her.
Jamil from Step into Life Croydon did a great job at being that awesome trainer – thanks Jamil!
Liz was also saying that 12 weeks ago she couldn’t even run to the end of her driveway – now she can run 3kms (in hilly Croydon) non stop!
A big thank you to David from Step into Life Mordialloc who trained Terry. Terry did a great job in achieving his goals!
A special mention to our sponsors for their great support.
