Recovery Fuel: Banana Berry Protein Smoothie
Wednesday, September 2013Ok, so you’ve just gotten home from an epic run, are super sweaty, and buzzing from that hard-earned runners high – so what now? Don’t let your pavement pounding efforts go to waste – heal those weary muscles with this fruity, sweet and satisying combo of carbs! Full of the energy and protein you need to rebuild muscle, this smoothie should be consumed within 30 minutes of finishing your run. As a bonus, the water and fibre will keep hunger under wraps for hours - feel free to use frozen berries in place of fresh, as this is often a more affordable option.
- 2 tablespoons greek yoghurt
- 1 banana
- ½ cup blueberries
- ½ cup raspberries
- ½ cup soy milk
- ½ cup water
- Place all ingredients in blender… blend until smooth!
- Enjoy within 30 minutes after your run.
