Nuts and Grains Breakfast Smoothie
We are back in the Step into Life Kitchen, with Step into Life head personal trainer and owner Amy Greer. Today it’s all about breakfast, we all know how important a healthy breakfast is but, it can be tough to have a healthy breakfast when you are in a hurry. This Vitamix “Nuts and Grains Smoothie” is perfect for when you are on the go.
With rolled oats for long lasting energy, peanut butter for a boost of good fats and banana for fibre this smoothie will keep you going all day.
80 ml (1/3 cup) ice cubes
1 medium ripe banana, peeled, quartered
1 Tablespoon peanut butter
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
1 Tablespoon old-fashioned rolled oats or oat bran
240 ml (1 cup) unsweetened rice milk
Place all ingredients into the Vitamix 0.6-litre container in the order listed and secure blade.
Turn the dial to 1 and slowly increase speed to 10.
Blend for 35 seconds or until desired consistency is reached.
