Fitness Round Up- What’s on in April
With Autumn now here, it’s time to enjoy the beautiful change of session and find an event near you.
The Tan Track, Pillars of Wisdom, Melbourne Botanic Gardens
Join Irabina Autism Services on Sunday 2nd April by walking/running 4km or 8km around the Tan Track as we raise funds to support those living with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Jells Park to Wesburn Oval, Melbourne
Oxfam Trailwalker is a challenging event that also changes lives, including yours. Oxfam Trailwalker Melbourne, being held 7-9 April 2017, will see teams walk through Warburton, the Dandenong Ranges and Melbourne’s outer suburbs.
The Herald Sun CityLink Run for the Kids is a 16km and 5km fun run - one of Victoria's most popular running/walking events each year. The primary aim of the fun run is to help raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
The Barwon Coast Sheepwash Classic is an annual 4km and 8km fun run and walk on Easter Saturday at Barwon Heads in Victoria.
The Color Run - Melbourne
The Color Run Melbourne is a unique 5km fun run held at Flemington Racecourse. There will be a water station around the half-way point of the course to keep you hydrated. Water stations will also be located in The Village.
MyPhysio Werribee Mansion Run
The MyPhysio Werribee Mansion Run starts and finishes on the lawns of the magnificent Werribee Mansion within the grounds of Werribee Park. The event caters for all levels of fitness and all members of the family with a two lap half marathon and 10km runs for the experiences runner, 5.5km Run/walk event for the less experienced and a 1.2km Kids Dash, ensuring no one misses out on the action.
Puffing Billy's Great Train Race is a 13.5km race against the iconic Puffing Billy Train through the Dandenong Ranges starting from Belgrave, Victoria. Discover the wonder and awe of this 36-year-old running event in Melbourne's Dandenong Ranges. The race route takes runners through fernglades and hills, along tarmac roads and multi-purpose trails competing against Australia's favourite steam engine.
NewRun - Newcastle's Festival of Running
With a goal to become one of Australia's leading regional running events, NewRun is staged in the most iconic venues in Newcastle and offers plenty of opportunity to test your fitness around this beautiful coastal city. Whether you're an experienced runner or a first timer, you will love one of the most picturesque courses in Australia which provides a great atmosphere along the entire course.

MS Walk and Fun Run - Sydney
The MS Walk and Fun Run Sydney is a 5km or 10km run/walk event to help raise funds to assist people living with multiple sclerosis. Choose between either a 5km or 10 km course around the largest urban parkland in Sydney.
The Back 'O' Bourke Mud Run in Bourke, NSW is a mud obstacle course for all levels, to challenge yourself or your mates. This event is approximately 5km long with over 20 obstacles, held by the Darling River. Run, jog, or walk at your own pace because winning is completing the course. While the Back 'O' Bourke Mud Run will bring out your competitive spirit, the key to success is teamwork by helping your mates and other participants over the hurdle or pulling them through the mud pit!
The 'Glow in the Dark' Family Fun Run/Walk is a great opportunity for families to come together and have some fun.Dress up for the theme 'April Fools' and take on the fun run/walk course at night and glow the night away!This fun run forms part of the Dynamic in a Dress Running Festival, with a 21.1km half marathon and 10km fun run taking place the next morning.
The Gold Coast Bulletin Fun Run starts and finishes at the cbus Stadium in Robina. All distances follow the same course with turnaround points along the way. Runners in the 21km event follow the course right out to Lakelands Golf Club before turning to return to the finish line.A great family fun day out. Various distances with one to suit everyone!

Held on the final day of the 2017 Barossa Vintage Festival, Punkt zu Punkt is your opportunity to run your week of over-indulgence away with a challenging trail run through the heart of Barossa’s Riesling country.
See the Barossa from an entirely new angle as the trail weaves from Angaston, though Kaiser Stuhl, Mount Crawford Forest, past Pewsey Vale vineyard and down the rolling hills of Steingarten to Lyndoch. Celebrate your 33.3km feat with a commemorative bottle of Chaffey Bros Riesling at the finish line in Lyndoch.
The Rockingham Half Marathon incorporates 21.1k, 10k and 5k fun runs into a running festival along the Port Kennedy foreshore. This run follows a safe and undulating out and back course along the foreshore trails and paths. The start and finish are located at the Port Kennedy boat ramp. g Point Port Kennedy.
Miss Muddy at the Perth Motorplex in Perth, Western Australia is a women-only mud run. This event is an obstacle and mud festival with a course of up to 5km for participants of 13 years and over. It includes mud, colour, climbing, crawling, slipping, sliding and lots and lots of laughter. This un-timed obstacle course is all about women supporting women in a fun and non-threatening environment.
